Warner Bros. Adds to Video Game Development

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group has bought a majority share in the British video game studio behind “Batman: Arkham Asylum” and other action-adventure titles. The acquisition of Rocksteady Studios marks a continuing strategy by the Warner Bros. division to build internal development capabilities and focus on major game franchises, such as “Batman,” “Lord of The Rings,” and “Mortal Kombat.” Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is working with Rocksteady on a sequel to “Arkham Asylum,” a title that sold more than 3 million units worldwide. “This arrangement is a great strategic fit and we are very pleased to solidify our relationship with this talented development team,” said Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group President Kevin Tsujihara. Rocksteady was founded in 2004 in London. Mark R. Madler
