Valley Industry and Commerce Association will present awards to members and elect its new leaders at its 61st Annual Meeting on Dec. 9, the Sherman Oaks-based organization announced. The group will present the Harmon Ballin Community Service Award to Martin Cooper of Cooper Communications Inc., the President’s Award to Sharyn Quinn of L/B/W Insurance & Financial Services Inc, and the Robert E. Gibson Corporate Award of Excellence to Waste Management. “VICA is full of dedicated and hardworking business leaders who are engaged in their communities,” said Daymond Rice, the organization’s chair. “Our awardees have demonstrated effective leadership and outstanding community involvement.” VICA will also elect and install its 2011 board of directors and officers at the meeting. Rice will begin his second and final year as board chairman. The meeting, to be held at the Airtel Plaza Hotel and will feature Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market CEO Tim Mason. Jessica Vernabe
