Stellar Microelectronics Restructures for Growth

Valencia-based Stellar Microelectronics, Inc. announced it is expanding its management team and infrastructure to better support 2011 growth plans. The company, which specializes in engineering, design, and production services for electronic applications, saw a 98 percent compounded annual growth rate from 2005 through 2009. In 2010 the company is focusing on improving its infrastructure and refining its processes to enhance productivity and better manage the growth anticipated for 2011. The company recently restructured its business development group into two focused market groups. The medical market group will be headed by Alex Richardson, vice president of business development. The defense, aerospace and industrial markets group will be directed by David Ford, who recently rejoined Stellar after three years at Northrop Grumman. Winston Hanson, formerly with St. Jude Medical CRMD, Power One, and Proxima Corporation, joined the company as senior director of supply line management. He brings 30 years of global materials management, logistics knowledge and strategy to the company. Robert Woodford joined the company 16 months ago and has now been promoted to director of materials. He has more than 18 years of experience in purchasing, operations, and supplier quality at companies like Boston Scientific, Advanced Bionics, and Medtronic. John Maxwell was appointed director of quality and manufacturing engineering. He brings 38 years of experience in semiconductor, component, and other electronics manufacturing processes, from companies like National Semiconductor, Power One, AVX, Motorola, and Johanson. John Leoni, formerly with Data Exchange Corporation, joined Stellar as master scheduler.
