The board of directors of discount ticket seller Tix Corp. has formed a special committee after having received a non-binding proposal. The committee of independent directors will review the proposal and make a recommendation to the board of the Studio City-based company that sells discount tickets in Las Vegas as well as merchandise connected with museum exhibits. Management has informed the special committee it has no current intention of making an offer for the shares. In December, Tix completed the sale of its poorly performing live entertainment division to a group of company executives for an undisclosed amount.
