Louis Borick, who grew Superior Industries International Inc. from a small auto accessories dealer into a multi-national aluminum wheel manufacturer, died Nov. 28. He was 87.

Borick founded the Van Nuys company in 1957 and served on its board of directors for more than 50 years. He was chief executive of the company until January 2005.

Borick’s son, Steve, now serves as president and CEO of the company.

Louis Borick was a natural leader, known for his integrity and focus on constantly adding value to the products the company produced, the company said in a release.

Superior supplies the major automakers with aluminum wheels made at plants in the U.S. and Mexico.

In addition to son Steve, Borick is survived by son Robert, daughter Linda and two grandchildren.
