Teledyne DALSA Receives Satellite Sensor Project

A Teledyne Technologies subsidiary will develop sensors for delivering high resolution images from a satellite. Teledyne DALSA will partner with Surrey Satellite Technology, a provider of operational and commercial satellite programs, for the earth observation application. Teledyne Technologies, based in Thousand Oaks, acquired DALSA earlier this year. The images from the satellite will be available starting in 2014 and be used for urban planning and environment and disaster monitoring. “We are very pleased that SSTL has chosen to award Teledyne DALSA this prestigious contract,” said Philip Colet, vice president of sales and marketing at Teledyne DALSA, in a prepared statement. “We are confident that our experience with designs optimized for radiation hardness and extreme environments typical in space will give SSTL and its customer a competitive advantage.” Mark R.
