Provision Interactive Technologies, Inc. has been issued one of several pending patents that will allow it to integrate 3D displays in vending machines and self-service kiosks. The new patent boosts the Chatsworth-based company’s intellectual property in the U.S. Originally filed in 2005, the patent for its 3D holographic product, known as “HoloVision” gives Provision great latitude in how 3D is incorporated into the vending machine and self-service kiosk markets. “Imagine a 3D person greeting you when you conduct an ATM transaction or being able to have a 3D view of a product before you buy it,” said Provision CEO Curt Thornton. “This patent allows us to control that experience in this growing market.”
