Dean Leaves Hospital Post

Glendale Adventist Medical Center CEO Morre Dean resigned his position to accept a new position as president and CEO of Parker Adventist Hospital in Denver. Dean, who has held the CEO position at GAMC for five years, will leave Aug. 5 to join the Centura Health System, his former employer. “This move is an opportunity for me to return home, and for my children to grow up in immediate proximity to our extended family,” Dean said. An executive search to fill Dean’s position is underway, according to Robert G. Carmen, CEO of Adventist Health and board chair of the Southern California facility. “Morre’s leadership has greatly impacted GAMC and its community,” Carmen said. “His innovative leadership and dedication to moving GAMC forward is evident.” During Dean’s tenure, the medical campus added 118 new acute-care beds. It also opened a spine and orthopedic center, created a department of clinical research, assisted the hospital in becoming an advanced certified primary stroke center, an accredited chest pain center and a smoke free campus. Dean also supported the debut of the hospital’s weekly television show and opened the ambulatory surgery center. —Mary Catherine Holcomb
