Rodeo Realty Expands Valley Footprint, Adds More Agents

Rodeo Realty, a Beverly Hills-based real estate firm, has more than doubled the size of its Calabasas sales office and plans to hire about 50 agents. With more than $100 million in annual sales and more than 700 San Fernando Valley-based agents, Rodeo Realty continues to thrive in an otherwise sluggish residential real estate market, said founder Syd Leibovitch. The company, which serves mostly high-end clients, recently relocated its Calabasas office from a 5,000-square-foot location to a 12,000-square-foot location at 23901 Calabasas Road. Once the hiring is complete, the office will be home to about 150 agents, Rodeo officials said. “We are adding (agents) consistently by the month,” Leibovitch said. In October, the firm will be expanding its Encino office to accommodate a growth in the number of agents from 80 to about 100, he said. In the past year, the firm also expanded its Woodland Hills and Sherman Oaks offices adding about 3,000 square feet and 20 additional agents to each location. Rodeo’s Studio City office was recently remodeled with the addition of private offices for top producers. “It gives us plenty of room for people for when the real estate market turns,” Leibovitch said of the projects. Two years ago, the Northridge office added a second floor to bring the total square footage to 12,000, he added. In the greater Los Angeles area, the company opened a new 13,000-square-foot office in Beverly Hills in June and a 10,000-square-foot office on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood in January. Leibovitch said the company has remained on the top of its game by maintaining its service offerings and avoiding extra fees, while competitors have done just the opposite. “We have pulled other agents from other companies,” he said. At other firms, agents have to compete against company owners and managers for business, Leibovitch said. At Rodeo, managers are there to help agents with sales. “A lot of them don’t like competing with owners and managers because there is always a conflict,” he said. Other factors that have helped Rodeo to grow and attract new agents in the San Fernando Valley region include the company’s state-of-the-art facilities and its internet marketing department, Leibovitch said. All offices are equipped with email marketing systems, website designers and also print shops. The Calabasas office will include a training center for agents. “We have a lot of capabilities,” he said. Rodeo customers say the company has earned their loyalty by providing stellar customer service. Dana Nadian Shumar said the reason she and her family have maintained a 10-year relationship with Rodeo Realty and Calabasas-based agent Haroldine Gearhart is because the home-buying process runs smoothly. “She goes well and beyond the call of duty,” Shumar said of Gearhart. Client Adam Isrow said with the help of Calabasas-based agents David Cohan and Michelle Cohan he sold his home in Calabasas and purchased a new home there. “It was important to get in touch with them while I was traveling internationally, and anybody I needed to get to, I could,” he said.
