A subsidiary of Trio-Tech International received a $2.9 million contract to manufacture components for offshore oil exploration in Southeast Asia. PT SHI Indonesia will complete the work in September on the parts for mobile offshore production units and living quarters. Van Nuys-based Trio-Tech acquired PT SHI in 2009 and has invested heavily in the company this year. “These investments are now beginning to yield the incremental business we anticipated,” said Trio-Tech CEO S. W. Yong. “We continue to believe that PT SHI Indonesia has the potential to become an important source of long term growth for Trio-Tech.”
