Hotel Builds Suites for the Stars

Hotel Amarano in Burbank is adding onto its hotel in hopes of drawing celebs and entertainment industry folk. The Burbank-based boutique hotel recently announced it started a construction project earlier this month that will add 32 rooms, bumping up its guest capacity by 30 percent. The hotel also is building a swimming pool and a 1,000-square-foot luxury suite, which will have a private terrace, a spa and views of Hollywood Hills. The Hotel Amarano fitness center will get a makeover, too. “From the moment that guests arrive at the hotel, our goal is to transform every concept of luxury, comfort and relaxation,” said Tom Whelan, the hotel’s general manager. The hotel, which opened in 2002 as the Hotel Graciela, is located at 322 N. Pass Ave. in the Burbank’s media district. It is situated near Warner Bros. Studios, The Walt Disney Company and other major entertainment production facilities. The property has 100 rooms and suites, 2,200 square feet of meeting space, a restaurant, a lounge and a garden rooftop sundeck with a spa. — Jessica Vernabe
