Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Mattel Inc. will continue their decade-long collaboration of releasing action figures based on DC Comics characters with an extension of their licensing agreement. Mattel is currently developing toy lines associated with next summer’s Warner Bros. films “The Dark Knight Rises” and “Man of Steel,” a re-boot of the Superman franchise. The worldwide fan base of DC superheroes keeps the demand high for imaginative new produce, said Karen McTier, executive vice president, Domestic Licensing and Worldwide Marketing at Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “The extension of the Mattel agreement ensures that these fans will continue to be amazed by our DC Comics Super Hero offerings for many years to come,” McTier said in a prepared statement. The agreement grants Mattel the rights to existing DC character, animation and motion pictures and to produce toys based on future film and animation projects developed and produced during the term of the agreement.
