Camarillo-based Semtech Corporation announced a $25,000 contribution to UCLA Hospital System in support of a new treatment center at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for teen and young adult cancer patients.

The program, Daltrey/Townshend Teen & Young Adult Cancer Program, aims to improve the support offered to the hospital’s patients and their families throughout the treatment process.

Semtech, which supplies analogs and mixed-signal semiconductors for the engineering community, will become a gold sponsor of the new UCLA program as a result of its donation.

In a prepared statement, Mohan Maheswaran, president and CEO of Semtech, said the company’s goal through the sponsorship is to help the hospital’s young patients receive the best possible care, support and compassion they need.

“Participating in such a worthy cause allows Semtech to help improve the social support that teens and their families need while receiving various types of cancer treatment,” Maheswaran said.
