Biomed Firm Adds Texas to Footprint

Biomed services provider enBio has expanded the reach of its health care facility equipment repair and maintenance services with the addition of three hospitals in Texas. The long-term acute care facilities are the first outside the Western U.S. for the Burbank company. enBio serves hospitals in California, Hawaii and Alaska. The Texas market was one that enBio founder and CEO Arthur Zenian wanted to enter because competing biomed companies were saturating the California market. “It proves the business model we have in Southern California can be duplicated in any state and we can do well,” Zenian said. The hospitals are in Dallas and two outlying cities, DeSoto and Corinth. All three are owned and operated by Vibra Healthcare. Zenian started enBio in 2008 after having owned two other biomed companies. enBio technicians work on site to make sure equipment — ventilators, infusion pumps, imagers, and the like — are in working order and get regular preventative maintenance. Regular maintenance cuts down the risk of a life-threatening malfunction. The addition of the Texas locations resulted in Zenian hiring one full-time employee and a part-time employee. “It is peace of mind having more accounts and you employ more people,” Zenian said. With a foothold in the Texas market, Zenian hopes that other hospitals in that state will sign on with enBio for its services. —Mark R. Madler
