The debut of Apple’s latest gadget, the iPhone 4S, drew a crowd of eager shoppers looking to snatch up the newest model of the popular phone released today. Westfield Topanga’s Senior General Manager, Erik Klafter, said the mall’s electronic retailers – including the Apple Store, Verizon, Radio Shack, and Best Buy, which is across the street – brought in over 400 people. Klafter said mall security was ready for the onslaught of customers waiting for the stores to open at 8 a.m. “It went well,” Klafter said. “We had mall security stationed outside and we escorted the line of customers into the mall. Crowd control was very orderly.”
