DTS, Inc., the Calabasas maker of high-definition audio technology, announced the opening of a new office in Singapore. Company officials said the move is a strategic one, aimed at establishing a research and development facility in one of the most dynamic and fast-growing cities for consumer electronics, and to be closer to significant customers. “The strategic addition of our Singapore office will further enhance available DTS resources within the region, allowing us to better partner with key customers and address the growing consumer demand for high-quality audio regardless of the platform,” said Brian Towne, executive vice president and chief operating officer, in a prepared statement. The company will tap into Singapore’s “talent pool” to assemble a team for the new DTS Singapore Technology Center. Dr. Mark Randolph, vice president of technology, will manage the center. Randolph said the new Singapore team will “complement the growing scale and diversity of DTS products while working closely with the regional offices.”
