Ixia, the $308 million Calabasas company that provides test systems for Internet Protocol (IP) and wireless networks, today announced that it will demonstrate a new test solution at a conference in Barcelona. Ixia’s new test is designed to measure voice quality end-to-end, from the cell tower through the core network. The new test will allow operators to easily compare and contrast the voice quality of over-the-top (OTT) service to operator-provided voice services. Using industry algorithms, the new test would allow operators to measure the mean opinion score (MOS) of voice quality. Additionally, Ixia said its new application tests the functionality, scalability, and resiliency of infrastructure components and new networks. Ixia reported $22.9 million in earnings in 2010 on $308 million in revenues. The company has a market cap of $1 billion.
