Toys based on the characters from this summer’s “The Dark Knight Rises” will kick off a new product line between Warner Bros. Consumer Products and JAKKS Pacific Inc.
The agreement between Burbank-based Warner Bros. and JAKKS, headquartered in Malibu, covers the manufacture, distribution and marketing of novelty and large-scale figures and plush toys based on popular DC Comics Super Heroes and Villains, including Batman, Superman, The Joker, Green Lantern and The Flash.
“The Dark Knight” line will be in stores in July to coincide with the release of the third film in the trilogy from director Christopher Nolan.
“We are confident that JAKKS will bring its trademark creativity to this new toy line inspired by the DC Comics Super Heroes and Super Villains,” said Karen McTier, executive vice president of Domestic Licensing and Worldwide Marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products, in a prepared statement.
