Executives with BioSolar Inc. visited China recently to meet with solar manufacturers interested in buying solar panel modules from the Santa Clarita company. The responses the executives received were encouraging and the manufacturers wanted samples to start their internal testing, said BioSolar CEO David Lee. BioSolar develops backsheets, a component on solar panels, from natural materials instead of petroleum-based materials and eliminates the use of toxins in the manufacturing and disposal process. The company uses contract manufacturers to make the backsheets. “Once our first customer completes full panel (Underwriters Laboratories) recertification, the world can start buying solar panels with BioBacksheet, which will result in high volume production and substantial revenues for our company,” Lee said in a prepared statement.
