The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated, a Calabasas-based operator of upscale casual dining restaurants, will be laying off 135 employees from it West Coast bakery in Calabasas. In an emailed statement, Alethea Rowe, senior director of marketing and public relations for The Cheesecake Factory, said the company will be producing fewer products from its Calabasas plant and will conduct a “reduction-in-force.” “We are doing what we can to assist laid off staff, including offering staff members the opportunity to transfer into open positions at the company’s East Coast Bakery in North Carolina,” Rowe said. On Feb. 21, the company reported revenues of $477.7 million for the quarter ended Jan. 3, compared to revenues of $416.7 million for the year prior.
