Simi Valley-based steam shower manufacturer ThermaSol recently launched a mobile application that allows its customers to control all aspects of their shower — temperature, light, music and more — via cell phone or tablet device. “The Solitude Mobile Application takes our systems to the next level,” said Mitch Altman, CEO of ThermaSol, in a prepared statement. He claims the app is the “first for not only the steam shower industry, but the residential plumbing industry as a whole.” The free Solitude Mobile Application is compatible with ThermaSol’s ProSeries and AF Series steam shower systems from 2007 and on, Altman said. From 2007 through 2011 around 55,000 units were sold that will be compatible with the application. The application is available for download on iTunes and Google Play and is compatible with iOS 4.3 and up and Android 2.2 and up. It allows customers to control various settings remotely from anywhere within their home’s Wi-Fi range. While the application is free, those wanting to use it will have to purchase a module for $595 that synchs with the application, Altman said. It will be available for purchase on Aug. 1. “Our steam shower systems are designed for people to create a highly personalized spa experience at home,” Altman said. “We are always doing what’s going to be the next thing.” – Leah Gillis
