Kaiser Permanente to Open Third Location in Thousand Oaks

Kaiser Permanente is adding a third medical office building in Thousand Oaks with a lease signed for about 11,0000 square feet of space located at 322 East Thousand Oaks Blvd. Scheduled to open in the fall, the new space will give Kaiser Permanente the ability to expand its family practice. The new facility will consolidate Kaiser’s primary care, pediatrics and OB-GYN practice under one roof. “It will be more family-centered care,” said Linda Donner, administrator for Kaiser’s Thousand Oaks offices. “It will be a family-friendly center with services for women’s health, families, and pediatrics,” she said. Kaiser Permanente’s main Thousand Oaks location on Hillcrest Drive is turning 20 this year, but with growth in members, the health care system added a new location on Hodencamp Road more than ten years ago. The organization has outgrown that facility too, Donner said. Family care practitioners from that office will now relocate to the East Thousand Oaks Boulevard and the Hodencamp Road office will be devoted to behavioral health services, something Kaiser has wanted to provide in the community for a long time, Donner said. The Thousands Oaks Boulevard office will open Oct. 1. It is expected to have two pediatricians, six family practitioners and two nurse practitioners, Donner said. She said the facility will see 200 to 300 patients a day. The new Hodencamp facility will be renovated and will open in the winter of 2013. The building is owned by the Sinclair Company in Thousand Oaks. Owner Keith Sinclar recently leased about 40 percent of the same building, previously owned by Verizon Wireless, to the Social Security Administration. Sinclair said that with tenants like Kaiser Permanente and the SSA, the east portion of Thousand Oaks Boulevard—which city officials have long hoped to turn into more of a downtown—will see more pedestrian traffic. “The goal is to make the area more retail and user-friendly,” Sinclair said.
