Apollo Medical Names New Chief Medical Officer

Medical management company Apollo Medical named Dr. Louay Shawesh as its new chief medical officer Friday. Shawesh will be responsible for the design and implementation of clinical and operational programs for the Glendale-based hospitalist and critical care management company. “I’m delighted to be a part of the ApolloMed team,” said Shawesh, in a prepared statement. “ApolloMed has developed unique new strategies for achieving effective, high quality patient care. I am excited to get started in my new role and look forward to advancing ApolloMed’s vision of integrated health care delivery.” Shawesh previously served as regional hospitalist medical director at AppleCare Medical Group, a physician association that includes more than 600 physicians in the southwest area of Los Angeles and portions of Orange County. He earned his medical degree at Damascus University School of Medicine and did his residency at Detroit Medical Center. “We are proud to have Louay as our CMO,” said Dr. Warren Hosseinion, CEO of Apollo Medical Holdings, Inc., in a statement. “He offers solid leadership and direction from a clinical perspective that will help our clients operate more efficiently while improving the health and outcomes of patients. We anticipate that he will contribute great insight in a number of areas.” Kelly Goff
