Amgen Appoints New Compliance and Ethics Chief

Amgen announced today that Cynthia Patton will become their new senior vice president and chief compliance officer Oct. 22. Patton, who has been with the Thousand Oaks-based biotechnology company since 2005, is currently a vice president in the law department. She will now be responsible for overseeing Amgen’s worldwide compliance and business ethics. “Cynthia has more than 20 years of healthcare legal experience and a deep understanding of our business operations,” said president and CEO Robert Bradway, in a prepared statement. “Cynthia’s addition to Amgen’s leadership team will help us further our commitment to conduct business ethically and in compliance with the laws and regulations that govern our business and industry.” Patton will report to Bradway and replaces Anna Richo, who is departing the company. She has served as chief compliance officer since 2008 and has been with the company since 2003. Kelly Goff
