ATK Receives $71 Million Missile System Contract

Aerospace and defense manufacturer ATK has received a $71 million contract from the U.S. Navy to produce a supersonic, air-launched tactical missile system. The advanced anti-radiation guided missile will be produced at ATK’s facilities in Woodland Hills and Ridgecrest. ATK is headquartered in Arlington , Va. The missile system is a joint project of the Navy and the Italian Air Force. The missiles have been used on U.S. FA-18 C/D Hornet and in the future will be deployed on the EA-18G Growler and FA-18 E/F Super Hornet aircraft, as well as the Italian Air Force’s Tornado ECR aircraft. “We remain committed to delivering AARGM’s game-changing capabilities to the fleet and to making it available for use on other U.S. and allied platforms,” said Bill Kasting , vice president and general manager of ATK’s Defense Electronic Systems division, which has a Woodland Hills office.
