Amgen Names New Vice President

Thousand Oaks-based biotech company Amgen today announced the appointment of Ray Jordan as its new senior vice president, corporate affairs. Jordan, who takes up his new position Oct. 1, will be responsible for strategic communications, including internal and external communications, issues management and philanthropy. “We are very pleased to have Ray join Amgen,” said Robert A. Bradway, president and CEO, in a prepared statement. “He is a strategic thinker and communicator with skills honed at two respected global health care companies. Ray’s background in both business management and communication will serve Amgen well as we execute on our strategy to deliver results for both patients and shareholders.” Jordan has been communications leader at Johnson & Johnson since 2003. Prior to that, he was vice president, communications and information, for Pfizer, where he worked for 17 years in several positions. Kelly Goff
