Buffalo Wild Wings Takes First PizzaRev Franchise

PizzaRev announced Monday it is giving its first franchise to Buffalo Wild Wings Inc., which owns a minority stake in the Studio City custom-pizza chain. Last week PizzaRev announced it was starting a nationwide franchising program. Buffalo, a Minneapolis-based sports bar chain, made an equity investment in PizzaRev in March. PizzaRev has restaurants in Northridge, Studio City, Woodland Hills, El Segundo, Oxnard, and a planned location in Burbank. PizzaRev’s model is a customizable food-assembly process similar to Chipotle Mexican Grill, allowing customers to choose an unlimited amount of toppings and sauces for a flat price of $7.99. According to the company website, PizzaRev can serve a Roman crust pizza in three minutes using stone-hearth ovens. “We have filed to franchise in all 50 U.S. states, and our goal is to partner with experienced multi-unit franchisees who share our vision for the PizzaRev brand,” PizzaRev Co-Chief Executive Irv Zuckerman said in a statement. The franchise management side of PizzaRev is led by Mark Lyso, vice president of franchise development, who recently came from Sizzler USA where he was a franchise developer.
