Illinois Company Buys Agoura Hills Food Inspection Business

National Everclean Services Inc., an Agoura Hills company that conducts food-safety audits of grocers and restaurants, has been purchased by Illinois company UL LLC, the companies announced Thursday. Everclean advises firms on food safety practices and provides internal audits on food-preparation safety. Its clients include Cheesecake Factory restaurants, Whole Foods markets, Safeway supermarkets and BJ’s Brewery restaurants. UL LLC, headquartered in Northbrook, Ill., is a global independent safety science company with offices in 46 countries. It also has a division that conducts food safety audits. “UL has a compelling vision for improving the safety of food across the world, and we are thrilled to be a key part of enacting it,” said Jack McShane, founder and chief executive of Everclean, in a statement. “This is a tremendous opportunity for our staff, our customers and the food service industry.” McShane will continue to manage UL’s food safety auditing operations, along with Bill Flynn, Evercleans’ vice president of quality assurance. The company will remain headquartered in Agoura Hills. Financial terms were not disclosed.
