Los Robles Hospital Partners With USC

Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center has signed a partnership agreement to bring the USC Institute of Urology to its Thousand Oaks campus. The collaboration will enable robotic urologic surgeries to be performed locally. USC has used robotic surgery to treat prostate, kidney and bladder cancer patients. The agreement also represents “a future trend in collaboration between academic medical centers and high-quality community hospitals,” the hospital said in a statement, which did not detail the financial arrangement. “The USC Institute of Urology already has a working relationship with our local urologists,” said Gabe Bullaro, vice president of surgical services at Los Robles. “The partnership was a natural fit and we see it as an opportunity for some of the more complex cases to be treated locally.” Los Robles is a 395-bed acute care facility owned by Hospital Corp. of America in Nashville, Tenn., the largest hospital company in the nation.
