Phone Power Rebrands

Telecommunications company Phone Power has rebranded itself as BroadVoice. The Winnetka company, which acquired Lowell, Mass.-based BroadVoice for an undisclosed amount in 2012, also operates Voip.com. The company will keep its headquarters in the San Fernando Valley. “It’s tiresome when you’re spreading all your marketing efforts into all three companies,” said Chief Executive Jim Murphy. Murphy said the change reflected the company’s broad service offerings. In addition to Internet phone services, known as Voice over Internet Protocol, it also offers Internet connections. “We’ve morphed into an Internet service provider over the years,” Murphy said. “VoIP is still our bread and butter, but our higher-end customers are expecting a bundle play.” The company has 93 employees and had revenue of $18 million last year.
