William Andrew “Bill” Feathers, a pioneer in the marketing of construction and design services, died May 10. He was 90. The longtime Tarzana resident founded Feathers Consulting Services in 1979. He worked as a marketing consultant to major Los Angeles architectural firms including Welton Becket & Associates, the firm that designed the Capitol Records tower in Hollywood, Pauley Pavilion at UCLA and the federal building in West Los Angeles. He also worked with construction firm Syska Hennessy Group. During his career, Feathers founded or co-founded the Los Angeles chapters of the Urban Land Institute, National Association of Real Estate Executives and Society of Marketing Professional Services. He also helped start the Downtown Breakfast Club in Los Angeles. Born in Fort Scott, Kan., Feathers grew up in Inglewood and attended Santa Monica Junior College. During World War II he enlisted in the Navy and became an officer. He graduated from USC with a degree in architecture and urban planning. He is survived by his wife, Sally, and two adult children. A service is planned for May 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Braemar Country Club in Tarzana.
