Cherokee Licenses Everyday California Brand

Cherokee Global Brands announced Wednesday it has entered a license agreement with 5 Horizons Group to sell products from its recently acquired brand, Everyday California. The Sherman Oaks apparel licensing company acquired Everyday California, a La Jolla-based casual lifestyle brand, in May in an effort to expand its portfolio. The products are expected to launch in 2016 and will be distributed in specialty and department-store retailers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and select countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “The company (5 Horizon Group) has an excellent reputation for creating innovative products and compelling assortments while providing its retail partners with significant gross margin opportunities,” said Henry Stupp, chief executive of Cherokee Global Brands, in a statement. “Leveraging their design, sourcing and distribution capabilities will be key to expanding global awareness for the Everyday California brand.” Shares closed down 88 cents, or less than 3.5 percent, to $26.04 on the Nasdaq.
