IPC Healthcare Inc. has appointed Dr. Ron Greeno to the newly created position of chief strategy officer. The North Hollywood company, which provides doctors to hospitals and nursing homes, said Greeno will lead the company’s strategic initiatives – a major responsibility at a rollup company that consistently acquires doctors groups. Previously, Greeno was a co-founder of Cogent Healthcare, a hospital doctor management firm, where he served as chief medical officer for 17 years. Cogent was acquired by Germany’s Fresenius Medical Care last year for an undisclosed sum. Greeno also is a founding member of the Society of Hospital Medicine, where he serves on the board of directors. “Dr. Greeno’s breadth of experience is uniquely qualified and well positioned to support IPC’s efforts in leading and innovating across the acute and post-acute care continuum,” Dr. Adam Singer, IPC’s chief executive, said in a statement. Shares closed up 16 cents or less than 1 percent to $49.53 on the Nasdaq.
