Sylmar Firm Buys Santa Clarita Building

A 44,500-square-foot warehouse in the Valencia Industrial Center has sold for $4.6 million to an expanding Sylmar logistics company. The 25158 Avenue Stanford building formerly served as the headquarters of Andrews Electronics, an electronic-parts distributorship acquired by Best Buy Co. Inc. in 2012. Triscenic Production Services, which is expanding its entertainment-industry transportation and storage business, acquired the vacant warehouse from Andrews Electronics owner Harry E. Acker, of Santa Clarita. The property at Avenues Stanford and Hopkins in the 1,100-acre business park is just off the 5 freeway. The location makes it ideal for transport and storage companies, said Todd Lorber, a senior vice president of NAI Capital Inc., who represented Acker. “It was under contract with a qualified buyer within weeks. There is a tremendous demand from users seeking to purchase industrial space currently,” Lorber said in a prepared statement. The sale price, which amounts to about $103 a square foot, reflected that demand, he said. Andrews Electronics was founded in 1950, and Acker operated the company out of the building since acquiring it for $2.4 million in 1988. Chris Jackson, an executive vice president at NAI, also represented Acker in the sale.
