ApolloMed Buys Bay Area Doctors Group

Health management company Apollo Medical Holdings Inc. on Wednesday announced it has acquired Bay Area Hospitalist Associates, a hospitalist and post-acute care practice in San Francisco. An affiliate of Glendale-based ApolloMed acquired 100 percent of Bay Area Hospitalist’s equity through a stock purchase agreement. Currently, Bay Area Hospitalist serves four hospitals and several skilled nursing facilities and has approximately 45 doctors, nurses and staff, which will be integrated into ApolloMed. “Bay Area Hospitalist Associates has a superb reputation in the San Francisco Bay area,” Warren Hosseinion, chief executive of ApolloMed, said in a statement. “Together, we believe we can bring the full force of our combined resources to expand further in Northern California.” ApolloMed shares were unchanged Wednesday at $4.50 on the over-the-counter market.
