H2Scan Names Chief Executive

Hydrogen leak detection equipment manufacturer H2Scan Corp. has named Michael Allman as its new chief executive. Allman replaces Dennis Reid, founder of the Valencia company, who will remain in the role of president. Allman has been chairman of the H2Scan board since 2014. He was thrilled to become chief executive at a time when the company is on a path of substantial growth, Allman said. “Its high-quality and low-cost sensors will create new and expanded markets for hydrogen measurement, improving the safety and operating performance of multiple industries,” he said in a prepared statement. Allman previously served as chief executive of Southern California Gas Co., in Los Angeles, and in management positions with Sempra Energy, the San Diego parent of Southern California Gas. Hydrogen is a flammable gas present inside power transformers and it is used in the oil refining process. With transformers, hydrogen level testing is done manually in a time-consuming process, while with the H2Scan detectors the process is automated and quicker to find problems.
