Limoneira Co. has formed a marketing partnership with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association to sponsor the organization’s upcoming community service month, the Santa Paula citrus grower announced Tuesday.

During the month of October, ITA will encourage teams in all five divisions of collegiate tennis to volunteer in their respective communities. In conjunction with its sponsorship, Limoneira’s branding will appear on the ITA’s channel on Indi.com, a video social media website, throughout the month of October. The ITA’s 1,700 college tennis teams will be encouraged to upload photos and videos of members engaged in community service. Those with the most hours of volunteer work will have the chance to win prizes and be part of media coverage surrounding the event, the ITA said.

“Our company strives to promote health,” Limoneira Chief Executive Harold Edwards, an ITA board member, said in a statement. “Lemon juice in water is one of the healthiest items that an athlete, or anyone for that matter, can consume.”

Shares of Limoneira (LMNR) closed Tuesday up 9 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $21.32 on the Nasdaq.
