Beauty product company Coty Inc. has opened the new headquarters for its salon and professional division in Calabasas.
The 26-acre site at 2500 Park Grenada, which officially opened Thursday, consolidates the Coty Professional Beauty’s operations in Woodland Hills and North Hollywood into a single location. A total off 315 employees are based at the campus, which is divided into a center for workers in marketing, consumer research and finance and a studio for company ambassadors to train salon professionals on its products, according to Coty.
Coty looked all over Los Angeles for a site before settling on the location in Calabasas, which was selected in part because of the facility’s size and ample natural light, the company said.
“Because the space is so expansive, we’ve been able to include our consumer and technical research lab in the facility,” Salvatore Mauceri, senior vice president of Coty Professional North America, said. “All in all, it’s a superlative environment for a company that regards itself as a challenger in beauty.”
Coty Professional acquired North Hollywood-based nail polish maker OPI Products Inc. in 2010, then in 2016 moved the operations at OPI’s manufacturing plant there to Coty’s existing facilities in North Carolina. In addition to OPI, the division’s portfolio includes Wella Professional, ghd and Sebastian Professional, all of which make salon-quality beauty products or styling tools. Those brands had been operating out of the firm’s Woodland Hills offices prior to the move.
Coty Inc. is based in New York.
