Designs Revealed for Replacement of Tarzana Car Wash

Details on the proposed mixed-use multifamily development at 19336-19360 Ventura Blvd. in Tarzana have been unveiled. The Luxe Tarzana project, which will seek a permit to raze a car wash, oil lubrication center and restaurant currently existing on the property, will establish a four-story building with 59 residential units and 8,533 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, according to an Urbanize.LA report. The complex will also have a garage with 146 parking spaces. Project applicant Kamyar Marouni has submitted his vision with renderings featuring designs for the building by architecture firm Farhad + Matloob & Associates to the Los Angeles City Planning Commission. The project calls for a combination of studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments. Out of the 59 apartments, seven will be designated for very low-income households, which makes the project eligible for density bonus incentives, including increased height and floor area, and a waiver of transitional height and landscaping requirements. The outside of the chic/boutique-appearing Luxe Tarzana will include beige porcelain-tile facade, trowel finish stucco along the upper level floors and roughly 3,500 square feet of rooftop deck. A staff report to the City Planning Commission supports the project, which is scheduled for review at a Sept. 26 planning commission meeting.
