Bronson Moves a Second Company Out of Camarillo

Qualstar Corp. has moved its corporate headquarters to Irvine from Camarillo, the second such move by the company’s chief executive in as many months. Company head Steven Bronson said to the Business Journal that he now spends most of his time in the Orange County city after moving both his companies. Interlink Electronics Inc. made the move last month. Qualstar is a manufacturer of data tape storage and power supply products. Interlink makes force sensor equipment. Both Qualstar and Interlink, however, are not completely moving out of Camarillo, Bronson said. “We are maintaining all our Camarillo team/operations,” Bronson said in an email about Qualstar. “We are adding to finance/operations resources and product management in our Irvine footprint.” Interlink’s Camarillo location will be home to R&D and a materials science lab as well as a supporting office for distribution and other business activities, Bronson said. Shares in Qualstar (QBAK) on Friday stayed at $2.85 on the over-the-counter market, on a day when the major markets closed up.
