New Talent at Loop Media’s Content Shop

Short form video distributor Loop Media Inc. has brought on a veteran entertainment industry executive as the chief content and marketing officer for Loop Media Studios.

Greg Drebin will be responsible for the creative and marketing initiatives of the Glendale company as well as managing the creation of content and brands that reach Loop Media’s growing footprint across businesses and consumer-facing channel platforms, the company said.

Loop Media distributes a library of 500,000 music videos plus film, television and game trailers that it makes available to restaurants, bars, casinos, cruise ships and other public venues.

Loop Media Studios, created in October, oversees content and programming creation and acquisitions at Loop Media for both business and consumer markets.Drebin will report to Andy Schuon, with whom he has worked in the past.“Greg and I have had a hand in moving music and pop culture together at some of the defining businesses in media,” Schuon said in a statement. “I am excited to reignite our creative partnership at Loop Media Studios. Greg is an extraordinarily talented executive who will no doubt further establish Loop Media Studios as a leader in video and audio content services.”Drebin got his start in the entertainment industry as a page at NBC in the late 1980s. He then went to MTV where he rose to become senior vice president of programming and production and then had a similar position with TechTV, a 24-hour cable channel based in San Francisco featuring news and shows about computers, technology and the internet. After two years with radio company Infinity Broadcasting, then owned by Viacom Inc., Drebin took a position with Universal Music Group where he and Schuon founded International Music Feed, a broadcast channel featuring music videos.

In an interview about the channel with online publication Vice in 2015, Drebin compared IMF to “the guy who lives in the apartment next to you who’s always playing his music too loud, but it’s always really good and a little bit different… and it’s usually something you like.”After IMF shut down in early 2008, Drebin moved on, first to head up marketing of international TV and branded content at Warner Bros. Entertainment, and then to 20th Century Fox where he was executive vice president in charge of worldwide marketing, PR and research for 20th Century Fox Television Distribution. He oversaw the marketing and promotion of 20th Century Fox Television’s series and films across international linear broadcast channels, subscription video-on-demand and streaming services.Loop Media engaged in a reverse merger earlier this year and trades on the Nasdaq with the ticker LPTV.
