United Chambers Refunds Membership Fees

The United Chambers of Commerce, an umbrella organization consisting of 19 local chambers, has returned all 2020 membership fees to its members due to the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus outbreak. A statement from Marian Jocz, executive director of the chamber, said that the chamber members understand what it means to struggle and survive in tough economic times as they are small businesses themselves. “The work of these amazing local chambers does not go unnoticed,” Jocz wrote in the release. “In fact, United Chambers of Commerce was created to help further the work of these local community leaders as they strive to help owners and entrepreneurs who are a foundation of our economy.” In addition to refunding the membership dues, the chamber has provided round tables with resources and contacts. “When a business needs vital information to keep running, the chamber is there along with a live friendly voice,” Jocz stated. “If they do not have the answer at the moment, they will find it and return the call … customer service at its best!” Jocz thanked the members of the local chambers for being part of their organization and encouraged those who are not members to join and see what a chamber can do for them. “The chamber may not be wealthy, but it is a wealth of information for businesses,” Jocz wrote in the release. The United Chambers of Commerce was formed in 1977 as a coalition of chambers and business organizations that represent more than 135,000 businesses in the San Fernando Valley and the surrounding region.
