Loop Player for Short-Form Videos

By MARK R. MADLER Staff Reporter Short-form video distributor Loop Media Inc. announced last month a deal for its Loop Player for commercial and public venues. The Glendale company will have its player distributed by No Static, an audiovisual systems installer in Burbank. The Loop Player is a simple plug-and-play small-box product that is less than 4 inches wide and less than an inch thick. It can be powered via a television set’s USB port or installed in a professional audiovisual rack. With 32 gigabytes of storage, the player can have up to 36 hours of video to save on bandwidth and ensure the entertainment never stops, even if the Internet connection goes out. The first commercial partnership for the Loop Player will be with Flix Brewhouse, a cinema-eatery-microbrewery, for all of its current and future locations. Loop Media monetizes its video distribution service through subscriptions and advertising and has curated a library of 200,000 music videos plus film, television and game trailers. It is a subsidiary of Interlink Plus Inc. in Las Vegas. Jon Niermann, chief executive and co-founder of Loop Media, said the Loop Player and the new Loop commercial service will transform the market for out-of-home consumer experiences. “It’s a one-stop shop for in-venue screens, especially when there aren’t any sports games on,” Niermann said in a statement. Steve Barnes, chief operating officer of No Static, said the company was thrilled to partner with Loop Media as its distributor. “Loop offers a flexible user-friendly platform that provides many different options to meet our clients’ needs while also hitting a price point well below what others in the category can offer,” Barnes said in a statement. And Greg Johnson, director of sales and marketing at Flix Brewhouse, said that finding a product that was flexible, easy to scale and affordable was important. “We’re excited to push the limits of dynamic digital content in all of our Flix locations through the Loop players,” Johnson said in a statement.
