LIFTInnovate

LIFTInnovateHeadquarters: ValenciaCEO: Paul BernsteinBusiness: Helps companies optimize technology investments2019 Revenue: $6.2 millionNotable: Founded by former  Cisco executivesGrowth: 427%LIFTInnovate wants to bridge the gap between new technology and the ways people work.Founded six years ago by Chief Executive Paul Bernstein, Chief Innovation Officer Steve Reasner – both of whom formerly worked at Cisco – and partner Jeff Kaplan, the company works as a consultancy for manufacturers, financial firms, health care organizations, schools and government agencies, helping them optimize their use of software.

“Our role is to help create workflows and really understand cases of what people are trying to achieve. How do we apply technology as an enabler?” Reasner told the Business Journal. At first, LIFTInnovate functioned as an independent extension of Cisco, training hundreds of the IT giant’s partners a year.

“Then Cisco said, ‘You guys are experts, can you do this for our customers, too?’” Reasner said. “That’s how we expanded.” The company’s services have proved valuable to the market. LIFTInnovate has more than quadrupled its revenue since 2017, reaching a high-water mark of $6.2 million last year.

“We were early in this market,” Reasner explained. “People didn’t understand what technology adoption meant or how to do business transformation along with that.” That positioning has allowed LIFTInnovate to thrive amid the coronavirus pandemic by helping clients move their operations to virtual formats, mostly using Cisco’s Webex software.“As soon as the virus hit, we probably tripled our business in higher education and government,” Reasner said.
