Jet Edge International is adding 27 new airplanes to its fleet, the Van Nuys air charter firm announced Thursday. The company expects to have 16 Bombardier Challengers and 11 Gulfstream G450 aircraft delivered by the end of the year. The planes make for a total of 74 aircraft available for charter through Jet Edge and its AdvantEdge program. In the AdvantEdge program, members commit their aircraft to the Jet Edge charter fleet for a certain number of weeks annually, depending on the members’ flying needs and interest in offsetting costs of ownership, according to the company’s website.Bill Papariella, chief executive at Jet Edge, said that the AdvantEdge program has been a game changer for the firm and its clients, strengthening its position in the market and solidifying relationships with private aircraft manufacturers.“This isn’t just about high demand and adding planes to the fleet.” Papariella said in a statement. “These fleet additions truly drive value across our platform for all stakeholders in a meaningful way.”The new aircraft to the charter fleet have an average age of less than 10 years and will include new paint, interiors and upgraded cabin technology systems, including streaming Wi-Fi, Bluetooth controlled sound systems and in-flight entertainment options, the company said in a release.
