Semtech Corp. announced Tuesday the full production of its newest Tri-Edge CDR chipset to enable data center connectivity over multi-mode fibers. The Camarillo semiconductor manufacturer said the new product, called GN2538 and GN2539, are the latest additions to the Tri-Edge CDR (clock and data recovery) platform that will allow major data centers to upgrade their interconnects and enhance overall performance.Tri-Edge CDR products offer low power and reduced latency to enable seamless data transfer despite growing data rates, while offering lower power dissipation that helps reduce the environmental impact of data centers, the company said.Julius Yam, market manager of data center products in Semtech’s Signal Integrity Products Group, said that the integration of the GN2538 and GN2539 reduces costs and delivers the highly desired low power and low latency performance that meets the needs of high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and cloud data centers.Shares of Semtech (SMTC) closed up 8 cents, or a fraction of a percent, to $69.92 on the Nasdaq, on a day when that market closed down a fraction of a percent.
