Adventist Health Simi Valley Partners on Up-Front Medical Payment Program

Adventist Health Simi Valley and MDsave have partnered on a new way for patients to save money as an increasing number of people pay out of pocket for health care.MDsave, an online healthcare marketplace, and Adventist Health Simi Valley will give patients the ability to buy medical services upfront at reduced prices that are bundled together with related fees – sparing patients any surprise bills.“Patients get the same quality of care they can expect at our hospital,” John Dingilian, Adventist’s chief medical officer, said in a statement. “We are able to offer our self-pay patients affordable prices through MDsave because of increased administrative efficiency.”MDsave’s online marketplace offers pre-negotiated and bundled prices for services. For example, MDsave’s current featured specialties include electrocardiograms, mammogram screenings and blood typing among other services.“We are compelled to build healthier communities,” Jennifer Swenson, Adventist Health Simi Valley chief executive, said in a statement. “MDsave provides alternative ways for patients to get the health care they need.”
