Paula Bahamon, a leader in the local business community, has joined Valley Community Healthcare as its development director. Her first day was Monday.
She replaces Judi Rose, the vice president and chief development officer, who will retire at the end of the year after 22 years at the nonprofit health care provider based in North Hollywood.
Bahamon had been vice president and community development officer at Mission Valley Bank for 4 ½ years. She specialized in business development and client relationship management.
The community health care agency said that Bahamon “brings needs assessment, organizational development and program management expertise to VCH at a time when the community health care agency is emerging from crisis management of its patient care delivery systems.”
“VCH has been energized by the changes the pandemic introduced into our practice,” said Paula Wilson, the chief executive of VCH, “and Paula’s invaluable networking and program-development skills will enable us to share our unique vision of the future, and plans to expand our network of like-minded supporters and partners.”
Bahamon has long been active in the community. She serves on the board of MEND (Meeting Each Need with Dignity); the advisory board for the School of Management at Woodbury University, and the board of the Valley Industry Association Education Foundation, among others. The Business Journal named her Banker of the Year in 2018; Rising Star in 2019 and one of the Valley’s Best Mentors this year. She recently was a nominee for the Fernando Award, the Valley’s highest honor for volunteerism.
VCH provides clinical and patient-centered programs through a network of health centers in the San Fernando Valley and especially helps the low-income population.
