Pegi Matsuda was named publisher of the San Fernando Valley Business Journal in 2001 after serving as the publication's associate publisher since 1999. Under her leadership, the Business Journal has grown significantly in terms of influence and leadership in the local business community.
Prior to joining the Business Journal, she spent 20 years in southern California corporations including GTE Telephone Operations and Sempra Energy. During that time, she held numerous leadership positions including directing the operations of sales and marketing, advertising, market planning, customer operations, market research, public affairs, business operations, new product development and strategic business planning.
She is a board member and officer of the Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA) and vice chairman of the board of the Valley Economic Development Center (VEDC). She is also an officer and board member of the Association for Corporate Growth - 101 Corridor Chapter
Pegi holds an M.A. Degree in Organizational Leadership from Woodbury University. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Relations and Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco. She currently resides in Studio City.

Advertising Coordinator, Breanne Kamai, assists the advertising account managers and the publisher with essential administrative tasks that help the advertising sales process.
She also serves as receptionist for the Business Journal and is the first voice most callers to the newspaper hear when they contact us.

Nancy Schwartz - Controller
Nancy Schwartz joined the Los Angeles Business Journal as Controller in 2006. She comes from a diverse background in administration and accounting in the home services industry; high-end furniture manufacturing, distribution and retail; scrap metal; banking; and non-profit organizations.
Originally from Columbia, Nancy moved to Los Angeles in 1994 and enjoys hiking, jogging, yoga, books and movies.

Mike Levine - Circulation Manager
Mike Levine is responsible for the sales and marketing of the Los Angeles Business Journal, audience development and overall customer service for subscribers. He brings exceptional experience from previous roles as the Operations Manager with the Los Angeles Times, Assistant Circulation Director with Copley Los Angeles Newspapers, Circulation Manager with the West County Times, and Wholesale Manager with USA Today.
Mike has been married to his wife for 30 years and has a 13-year-old son, Alex. He is an avid bicyclist and is a member of two bicycling clubs in Long Beach where he lives. Additionally, he is a real estate investor, a member of Western Fulfillment Managers Association (WFMA), and is a Certified Instructor in Extraordinary Customer Service by Kaset International.
