Loop Media Inc. has expanded its music video offerings with the launch of the first episode of a new series on Snapchat.
Financial terms of the deal between Loop Media in Glendale and Snap Inc. in Santa Monica were not disclosed.
The short-form video distributor will make available the Loop.tv channel on Snapchat’s Discover function to provide users with top-trending music videos, according to a release from the company.
The weekly episodes are hosted by Jess Lucero, known for hosting on “Overtime,” an original sports content producer, and reporting for the Los Angeles Dodgers, the release said.
Jon Niermann, chief executive of Loop Media, said the company was excited to team up with Snap and that it can now widen its audience reach through Snapchat.
“We place a special emphasis on bringing emerging musical artists to a wider audience and Snapchat is an ideal platform for this, amplifying these efforts as well as our efforts to reach younger audiences,” Niermann said in a statement.
The Snapchat partnership was announced on Wednesday. On Thursday, shares of Loop Media (LPTV) closed flat at $2.60 on the over-the-counter market.
